Narrative article homework

Tragic death of Delhi gang-rape victim 

The woman’s eyes are filled with tears. She does not say anything at all. Sitting in the shade on a wooden bench in front of her small house, her hands are holding a small picture tightly. She stares at the photograph and the full and busy streets of Delhi opposite her house, alternately. There are sorrow and longing in her eyes, as if she was expecting somebody long-awaited appearing at any moment, calling her name and falling into her arms.

The hope is great but somewhere deep in her heart she knows that it’s not possible. Her only 23-year-old daughter, who had died because of a brutal gang rape, would never return again. Realizing this fact and thinking of the pain, her child had gone through before it died,  makes her sob heart-rendingly and she desperately buries her head in her hands.

The mother of the 23-year-old female physiotherapy intern Sanjana had never imagined that she would not see her daughter alive ever again after the 16 December 2012.
